Fresh longan will help preserve longer. So, when choosing to buy a label, please keep a few points in mind:

  • Choose fresh, natural longan.
  • Avoid buying young, overripe longans.
  • Choose a longan that is intact, no strange spots, no scratches, cracks, even color.
  • Choose the fruit with the light and sweet aroma of the longan.

At room temperature, longan can stay fresh for about 3-7 days. Therefore, if you want to preserve the label for a long time, you should store it in the refrigerator.

  • Rinse the purchased label with water.
  • Use scissors to cut the longan from the branch (should cut close to the fruit knob) and let the longan drain.
  • Pick up damaged, cracked, overripe fruit. Put the label in a mesh food bag or plastic bag and then poke a few holes. It is advisable to divide the label into several different bags.
  • Put the label in the refrigerator to preserve it gradually. Labels should be kept in a separate tray/chamber, should not be stored with other foods, especially fresh foods, as this will cause the labels to deteriorate faster.

Longan stored in the refrigerator can stay fresh for 2-3 weeks.

Store fresh longan in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator

  • Label purchased, washed, drained.
  • Use a knife to separate the flesh of the longan (longan pulp) and then put it in a sealed plastic container or zipped food bag and place it in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator.
